National Flash Fiction Day 2016

For the first time, I’m travelling to Bristol to celebrate the National Flash Fiction Day festivities in person!

The 2014 NFFD anthology was one of my first publications; I had another story in the 2015 anthology, then this year, I have two stories in the 2016 anthology — one of which placed second in the NFFD Microfiction Competition!

On the 25th of June, one of my stories, ‘You are Pero Jones’ will be performed as part of Bristol’s first Flash Walk, which starts at 10:30 am at the main entrance to the Bristol Central Library and travels around the Bristol harbourside.

After that, I’m looking forward to attending the free flash fiction workshop in the afternoon followed by an evening of flash fiction readings by the likes of Alison Powell, Calum Kerr, Diane Simmons, Freya Morris, Jude Higgins, Judy Darley, Ken Elkes, Kevlin Henney, Pete Sutton, Tim Stevenson, Tino Prinzi and Tom Parker.

Details of the Bristol events are here:

Then, on the 27th of June, I’ll be reading a few new pieces alongside Joe Daly and Simon Sylvester at Verbose, a live literature night hosted by Sarah-Clare Conlon at Fallow Café, 2a Landcross Road, Fallowfield, M14 6NA.  It’s free entry and doors are at 7.30pm.  Details can be found here and here.

But there’s more!  This year, I have a story, ‘Back on Dry Land’  up at the National Flash Fiction Day NZ’s Micro Madness project (June 21st) and will have a story, ‘Measurements’, appearing at around 7:00 pm BST over at Flash Flood.  (Flash Flood is still accepting submissions until Wednesday 22nd June at 23.59 BST, so there’s still time to join in the fun!)

Other NFFD events around the UK are listed at the NFFD website.

Happy National Flash Fiction Day, everyone!
